Curves locations throughout the world are joining forces in a new initiative called Stronger Together, an international movement to make one million women stronger and healthier. The program will rely heavily on women sharing their success stories and providing confidence and inspiration to others.
The heart of the Stronger Together movement lives at an online public Web site, where women can find useful information about the movement, register to join the cause, sign their personal strength pledge and share their stories about how they were able to start a healthier lifestyle. They'll also find a myriad of useful tools, including a free Small Steps weekly email that gives subscribers simple fitness and nutrition tips that can make a big difference in their health.
Curves is a long-committed veteran in the fight against cancer, raising millions of dollars annually for research and treatment. This October, we'll continue to create awareness, encourage self-exams and mammography, and hold fundraisers.
We'll also make available a unique breast self-exam kit called the Liv Aid, which makes detecing unusual lumps in breast tissue easier. The Liv Aid was designed with the help of breast cancer "thriver" Olivia Newton-John and is endorsed by world-renowned breast cancer surgeon Dr. Ernie Bodai. For every Liv Aid sold, we'll donate one to a woman who can't afford one.
